Another skin care concern for African Americans and those with larger melanosomes is a keloid. A keloid occurs when a scar from a wound grows beyond its original size. Typical places for a keloid to develop include: ear lobe, back, neck and chest. Toxins are known to inflame melanosomes along with causing a host of other problems, including the creation of more free radicals. Any skin care system made from chemicals or other synthetic ingredients is likely to cause inflammation of the melanosomes and other side effects like dehydration.
