There is a relatively wide group of people who are at risk for psoriasis. For the most part, they are Caucasian with a northern European ancestry.
Slightly more women than men are affected by psoriasis. The average of onset is around 28 years old. It appears the darker a person’s skin is, the less likely he or she is to develop psoriasis. People living in a tropical climate also seem to be less likely to suffer from psoriasis.
Family history plays a huge role in the likelihood of contracting this common skin condition.
