According to a survey conducted by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, 74% of adults believe that having a less then perfect smile can actually impede your career. As a result, everything from teeth whitening gum, over the counter teeth whitening kits, and even whitening tooth paste are becoming big selling items at most grocery and drug stores. In the last few years, advances in teeth whitening have made it possible for companies to manufacture many at home teeth whitening systems. Another big advance in the over the counter whitening industry is teeth whitening gum. Several companies manufacture teeth whitening gum, a product that claims to magically brighten your teeth while you chew it. If that sounds too good to be true, there is a reason. It is too good to be true. It is often mint flavored and refreshing, but other than being enjoyable, it has little value as a teeth whitening cosmetic. If you want whiter teeth, you have to use a product that contains carbamide peroxide and that ingredient isn’t listed in teeth whitening gum.
